Go By Bike - Can it Impact Your World?

GoByBikeBC, the organizing body for the annual Bike To Work and School Week, have posted a record year during the May 28 - June 3, 2018 BTWW Event. The numbers demonstrate just how impactful one week of choosing to ride a bike can be.

In the Comox Valley, participation was logged at 882 riders with beneficial results for the Valley as follows:

Can you imagine the health and environmental impacts of 52 weeks at this same rate of participation?

Choosing to go by bike can indeed make a difference by impacting your world for the better.

Bike to Work and School 2018

A fun week of riding your bike to celebration stations and entering contests including a chance to win the Exodus Travel Cycling Adventure Grand Prize to Portugal is arriving soon. Your part is to register and then Bike to Work or School for the week.

Bike to Work Event Qualification: Biking to Work includes cycling for shopping, meeting up with friends for coffee or any other time you use your bike for transportation in place of your car.

To Qualify for the Exodus Travel Grand Prize:

"You must log kilometers for at least one trip that you choose to ride your bike instead of drive a motor vehicle to during Bike to Work & School Week, May 28 - June 3, 2018 (for example, if you choose to ride a bike instead of drive a motor vehicle to work, school, the gym, run errands, meet a friend for coffee, etc.)

Organizational Name Change

The Bike to Work BC Society has been rebranded to GoByBike BC. They are a registered non-profit society that secures and shares resources to help BC communities deliver successful events as a way to encourage people to use bicycles for everyday transportation. Their primary focus is Bike to Work and School Week, however they are also planning other BC events.

The GoByBike BC core mandate is to simply help people discover the joy of using their bikes for everyday transportation.

To help spread their bicycling message, the Society has a variety of T-shirts available with the GoByBike brand.
